The perfect 4-day weekend destination
Getting here is easy.
Moscow is a scenic half day drive from Boise, Seattle, and Missoula with wide open scenery along the way.
From Seattle, catch a quick daily flight into Pullman–Moscow Regional Airport, just minutes from town.
Driving from Spokane or Coeur d’Alene? The pretty 90-minute drive begins your transition into the weekend.
The Inland Northwest: Stunning in Every Season
Moscow and the beautiful drives that connect it to the inland Pacific Northwest shine in every season. Spring on the Palouse is lush and vibrant. Summers are warm and sunny, made for hiking, boating, and supper at Moscow’s many outdoor patio dining opportunities. Autumn brings golden light, stunning color, and crisp air, perfect for lattes and strolling. Winter offers cold, crunchy frost and snow, perfect for crystal clear stars, snowshoeing, and curling up by the fire.
Your Couples Counseling Intensive: Down The Road From Everywhere
90 minutes from Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, including the gorgeous Lake Coeur d’Alene. The drives are beautiful. There is skiing, a huge zip line, lake cruises, and more.
5 hour drive or short flight from both Boise and Seattle. There are daily flights from Seattle right to Pullman WA (10 minutes from Moscow).
30 minutes from Lewiston and Clarkston at the confluence of the Clearwater and Snake Rivers, where Lewis and Clark once traveled. Boat tours begin here into Hells Canyon—the deepest gorge in North America, even deeper than the Grand Canyon! Paddleboat cruises drift the Snake River.
30 minutes from Moscow, the Clearwater River leads to scenic drives to the Selway–Bitterroot Wilderness (some of the most remote in the lower 48), with hot springs tucked into mountain passes and Montana on the other side.
2 hours further south, the Salmon River winds through Riggins, a hub for white-water rafting and quiet riverside exploration.
The Palouse
The surrounding region, called the Palouse, is famous among photographers and has been featured in National Geographic for its unique beauty. Rolling fields stretch in every direction, changing color with the seasons, bordered by deep pine forests in Moscow. You can hike Kamiak Butte or Moscow Mountain, or drive Steptoe Butte for sweeping views. Or, simply explore the backroads and watch the light change across the hills.
Moscow: Small Town Charm
The Heart of Moscow
Moscow is home to the University of Idaho, which means there’s always something happening—art shows, concerts, guest lectures, and in the spring, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, which brings musicians from across the country. Downtown, just a couple blocks from my office, you’ll find Main Street: Friendship Square with its fountain and benches, local cafés, and restaurants that turn a lunch break into something restorative. On Saturdays (in season), the Farmers’ Market fills the street with flowers, produce, and music—a community gatherings that makes you feel immediately at home.
