A Little About Me

About Me

Hi, I’m Liz Miller. I’m a licensed therapist. In a nutshell, what I do is help couples and individuals get free to accept themselves and each other, and believe in the lives they want.

Why I’m a Therapist

I’m a therapist because I have a passion for helping people realize their worth, shake off the beliefs and reactions that keep them bound up in anxiety and lack of confidence, and believe they can go after their dreams.

What I Do

I provide couples counseling, trauma therapy, communication coaching, and identity/life-dreams development to people who’ve been through experiences that planted seeds of doubt. About their worth, their identity, their marriage, or their future.

I help individuals heal from trauma, find hope for a new way forward, gain clarity about what they want, and explore ways to get there. I help couples do the same things. When you rekindle hope for the future, and clarity about who you are and what you want, then it’s possible to go after a life of freedom.

I’m continually inspired by my courageous clients who commit to making the changes that will help them begin to dream again, and then to go after those dreams.

How I Help

My clients thank me for being direct with them and knowledgeable about the work. But they also like that I’m down to earth, and that humor and warmth play an important role in creating an environment where it’s safe to change.

I believe that passionately pursuing my own goals with conviction, while not taking myself too seriously, keeps me real for my clients who are doing—or want to do—that, too.

And I believe that being accepted for who we are right now is a big part of becoming who we want to be.

I can help with:

  • Getting a handle on why your relationships aren’t working.

  • Gaining clarity about what’s making you anxious.

  • Overcoming the effects of tough things you’ve been through.

  • Rebuilding your marriage into a loving, dynamic partnership.

This can be scary, even for people who’ve achieved a lot

Almost everyone I’ve helped—including the really successful ones—has had some worries about what it’s going to be like to talk about these things and admit to themselves what they really want.

Every big part of my story has required me to push through self-doubt:

  • When I was a kid, and didn’t let nerves keep me from chasing my dream of learning to ride and compete successfully with horses. ( I hid throwing up from mom because I wanted to ride. That. Bad.  I don’t recommend hiding feelings anymore, but I was THAT kid. I had a dream.)
  • When I went to a counselor in my 20’s to sort out the story of my teens.
  • When I started a new business in a new industry and pursued a better way of life, changing my career from management to coaching and sales, then to licensed professional counseling.
  • When I quit my comfy—but soul-killing—job, leaving the security of a great salary, benefits, and retirement to move to a new state and pursue a way of life I’d dreamed about.

You don’t have to do it alone

I know from my own life and the stories of hundreds of clients that there’s a logical reason why you’re struggling, and that the story of your life isn’t finished yet. I also know how hard it can be to get started. Why not get some support for the changes you want to make?

I believe doing this work now can change your life and set you free to do your life’s work, heal your marriage, or pursue your dream.

The things we go through can impact everything from how we feel in our own skin, to our careers, relationships, and whether or not we believe we can achieve our dreams and goals. I know from my own journey through fear to freedom that it is possible to change.
